soul curry

Its been quite sometime that i fiddled with my thoughts.. Life plays mean tricks with you and names it "inevitable"..You are supposed to love life and live it to the fullest... but beware , "love " and "everlasting happiness " is not the only thing that he is gonna give you...We fall in love only to lose it someday.. we get attached to people only to part someday, only to lose them forever may be...In case you are wondering.... no i am not always this pessimist but with the onset of this year i lost my grandpa.. Yes, grandparents are old but its hard to let them go..They are the most treasured possession a child can have..The land of perpetual comfort are their laps..never do they get angry with you .. never do they get tired of your blabbering.. oh how i miss my dadu!!! Being miles and miles apart from him makes this parting even more hard.. even more unacceptable to me...How i wish i could touch my dadu for the last time.. one more time!!
Well time heals everyting..i knew i would be healed too just needed some time.. Hence my vaccation from the blog................

our wanderthirst

I am back.. Its been a while since I got time alone with my blog..I was too busy shaking off the tiredness from our latest trip.. It was thanksgiving holidays for us..The plan had been long made.. almost 5 months earlier..we had been waiting for the trip ...Most of the time..wishing we had never made the plan..Anyway.. the day finally arrived.

our plan was to cover some national parks and state parks.. Bryce Canyon in UTah, zion national park, valley of fire ... and the death valley.. I was hardly aware of our plans which annyoed my hubby.. but as usual i paid no attention to that.. My main attraction of the trip was a very naughty traveller..Little shinshin.. seven full days with her!! aah its like uninterrupted fun.

So there we were .. our food and clothes packed.. food yeah!!.. we travel with our own cooked food.. spicy chillicken .. did you think we could go 7 full days with mac donalds?? oh boy .. if you thought so.. you dont know us!!

So our first day was visit to the kolob canyons.. it was a small part of the zion national park.. while we were entering the park ... we were witnessing the sun set.. The amazing beauty of the canyons in the red rays of the setting sun , astounded us..

We spent the next day at the huge zion..From mountains to waterfalls, from the weeping wall to the ckecker board mesa, from the narrows to the winding rivers.. zion continued to amaze us.. How wonderfully has nature carved her own checkerboard ! every corner of zion reminds you how strangely wind, air and water work. How tirelessly they created zion..

The second day of our trip was over ...

The third day we had a date with the hoodoos of the bryce canyon.. We had read "hoodoos cast their spell" .. but didnt quite feel it untill met them face to face. Who knew erosion could shape mudstone, limestone and sandstone to such spectacular arrays!! We used our imagination to name the voodoos.... While one looked like a fairy's castle.. other looked like a demon!!.. some looked like people standing and guaring the erroded stones..some looked like temples... Millions and millions of hoodoos stand solemnly and play with your imaginations.. The mischieveous rays of the setting sun played with the light and shadow .. gently shifting from one hoodoo to another, sunmerging each one of them to darkness gradually... It gave me the chills..

waow .. it was the fourth day already.. So today we had a few hours reserved for the sanddunes.. excited were we to see the sanddunes.. but when we were standing infront of them.. we could barely wnjoy them.. oh so cold it was!! we were shivering vigourously .. so we sacrificed our urge to take pics with the huge dunes and rushed to our car to head back... Back at the car none of us were happy.. "we got to get to those dunes" we thought ... and moments later there we were ignoring the shiver ..and yes ..

it was worth it!! ....

Now we had a long drive back to Nevada..... The drive was loaded with fun filled moments with the most charming backseat driver i have ever seen, the little shinshin.. by the end of the noon we had reached the "valley of fire"..

I must say .. it isnt a misnomer.. The valley seemed to be on fire as it reflected the sunrays.. Our day ended with a storm in the valley of fire.. How whooshing was the sound of wind in the vast valley!!. How fearful was the feeling to be caught in a storm in the midsnt of the valley with the sun down.. and darlness all over.. How fearful were the carved stones looking at the moment .. lucky for us the storm was for just a few minutes.. and we safely found our way out of the park.. .. next destination "VIVA LAS VEGAS"

To catch a glimpse of the bright shining lights of the sincity from the makes the heart dance.. how lively is this place!!.. Sin city seems to be a place of perpetual happiness..I often wonder if its a misnomer!!.. well then again .. who cares ... its vegas baby.. gamble your hearts out..

The next two days were dedicated to death valley.. o lordy lord... what a contrast to vegas.. Nothingness at its best.Chapped ,dry, broken lands... dry mountains, muddy canyons, huge sanddunes , traces of ghost towns... thats all death valley is about.. 272 feet below the sea level this valley could pass for mars if it didnt have the air to breathe.. i have never seen such dull landscape..scorching heat even at late november. no trace of water anywhere.. no trace of life anywhere...not even a single insect can survive here.. not even snakes..the great salt basin inbetween the huge wall of lifeless mountains looks enchanting in the moonlight.. we spent hours standing there and watching the bright white moon slowly peep from behing the huge mountaings.. oh god it was just amazing... the vastness , the nothingness . How strange was the feeling to stand there and watch the moon rise standing on the vast plain of salt..For two days we drove from one end to another and yet coudnt cover the vast death valley.. We picked some famous points and covered them... some Mr scotty had the playfull taste to build a catsle in the midst of this nowhere!!..its now a wonderfull place in the midst of the death valley ... a place with still some life au contraire to the rest of the valley .. It gives you the feeling of an oasis amidst the vast nothingness..Two days in the death valley and we were already dying to see the hustle bustle of a crowded city..As we drove back to vegas to catch our flight.. we were thankful that places like "sin city" exist ..

It was some trip. But i was dying to get back home and get some sleep...

me voila'

Dreaming is all i do day long.. well that is what i do at nights too..

but that is what most people do..ISNT it??

A great frnd of mine, Nimisha suggested i should start a blog to add some creative zest in my days.. It sounded like fun but then again when will i get some spare time from my uselessly useful dreaming.

Hence the delay.. but heyy voila'.. here i am.. with some of my sketches .

My hubby says they are okay, his friend says they are awefull...So you can see i am okay with criticism...criticism is highly acceptable in my blog....feel free to shower them.. but hey!! I didnt say admiration is not acceptable!!.. so one or two comments of praise would be nice too.. (wink)...anywhoo.. jokes apart.. I have to get going now.. no not to be all lazyyy and dream yy.. i have to cook now... Well bye for today..
